History
X-treme Metallurgy was formed in 1989 and was originally called Bakerite Industries.The company initially specialised in the manufacturing of Industrial Bakeware from its premises in Jacobs, Durban.
In 1995 the company relocated to its current premises in Westmead. In 1996 Trade Tools was acquired and the two companies merged to form X-treme Metallurgy.
Bakerite still focuses on the manufacturing of Industrial Bakeware and servicing the baking industry with Trade Tools manufacturing for a number of different end users.
X-treme Metallurgy is part of the Beare Holding Group Of Companies.

Bakerite is the only company to supply a fully radiused folded pan and this is very important in problem free bread packaging.
A single and two plate gel stove was designed and developed in the Westmead factory.
The company is SADC vetted and exports on a regular basis to African countries. The company has achieved level 7 BBBEE rating.
